Suspension Fully Assembled and Fender Brace Welded! | 2J-Z Episode 33
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Год назад
We've fully assembled a working suspension with both the Techno Toy Tuning and Apex Engineered component for the Z! I can't emphasize enough how lucky we are to have two very high quality sources of aftermarket suspension pieces for these cars. It took some time to assemble the entire suspension kit for this car but we've finally installed both front and rear control arms, hubs, brakes and will...
Datsun 240Z Camber Plates | 2J-Z Episode 32
Просмотров 2 тыс.Год назад
The Datsun 240Z "2J-Z" build marches on as we install the Techno Toy Tuning camber plates on the front of the car to give us that extra degree of suspension tuning geometry that we'll need for getting ourselves around the track faster. This addition is a prerequisite to installing our fancy front coilers with Swift Japan springs that should really help the car in the apexes. Subscribe to follow...
Datsun 240Z Teardown | 2J-Z Episode 31
Просмотров 556Год назад
The Datsun 240z aka "2J-Z" is waiting for parts which opens up the opportunity to continue dismantling the chassis to prepare for media blasting. The chassis and body panels are very straight but we will either be painting the car the same OEM Datsun brown color or going with another factory Nissan color from this era. Nothing super exciting to see in this episode but certainly part of the proc...
Apex Engineered 2JZ Drivetrain Mounts | 2J-Z Episode 30
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.Год назад
I'm back and more eager than ever to get this 2J-Z Datsun 240Z underway! We're diving into this project head first starting with transmission/engine mount replacement. We are also starting to get parts and pieces together for the complete suspension assembly in order to make sure everything is going to fit together nicely and ultimately get our fenders cut for the flares. Our extra wide tires w...
Building a French Cleat Wall | Dream Garage Build
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 года назад
Building a French Cleat wall became the obvious solution to the tool storage problems I have been facing. With very limited space in my 3 car garage to work on big projects, I found that the French Cleat wall solution allowed me to minimized the horizontal space required to storage things efficiently in overhead space that is otherwise unused. At one time, I had purchased wire rack shelves to h...
Billet T3 Wilwood Big Brake Kit Mockup | 2J-Z Episode 30
Просмотров 4 тыс.5 лет назад
After a long hiatus - we are back work on the 2J-Z. This time we are mocking up the Techno Toy Tuning 300mm big brake kit. This brake kit includes race spec rotors, calipers, pads and brake lines to help these cars stop in a hurry. Considering our 2JZ engine will produce upwards of 600hp, this brake kit is essential. Along with this, I also decided to pick up T3’s billet 5 lug hub since the car...
Intercooler Piping | 2J-Z Episode 29
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.5 лет назад
The intercooler piping for the turbo and intake system is (mostly) complete for the 2J-Z! I was able to put together some money to pick up an Everlast tig welder and start aluminum fabrication. This is a huge step in the right direction for this build as this now allows me to fabricate both aluminum and stainless steel pieces for the car. This will involved many hours of practice to master this...

Carbon Fiber Center Console | 2J-Z Episode 27
Просмотров 7 тыс.6 лет назад
The guys over at Illuminati Carbon Fiber have put together a solid factory replica carbon fiber center console for the 240z, and it looks awesome! Since I will be using the Nissan CD009 transmission, the shift hole was left uncut as I will be creating my own hole in the center console for the custom location. This piece is of very high quality for being one of the first production units they’ve...
Wilwood Race Pedals and Z Power Steering | 2J-Z Episode 26
Просмотров 10 тыс.6 лет назад
The factory Datsun 240Z clutch and brake pedals in operate separate master cylinders bolted to the firewall. These pedals sure looked tired and were in need of an upgrade. For project 2J-Z, I decided to take notes from Raw Brokerage’s build of John’s car and install a Wilwood pedal box as well as Greg’s Z Power Steering (ZPS). With these two products onboard, this car is going to brake much bet...
Illuminati Carbon Fiber Door Cards | 2J-Z Episode 25
Просмотров 14 тыс.6 лет назад
I wanted to put this short little product review video together for the Illuminati Carbon Fiber door panels I received the other day. For the interior of the 2J-Z, I’m going for a very modern feel that still takes notes from the original lines of the factory interior. With that in mind, I decided to grab a set of these carbon door panels. I’ve always loved the look of a carbon fiber interior do...
Completing the Disassembly | 2J-Z Episode 24
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.6 лет назад
The 2J-Z is back home and it’s time to strip the rest of the chassis down to nothing as well begin fabrication of interior components, hard lines, and more. Being a car that is almost 45 years old, just about every part of it could use reconditioning and a more modern touch. With that in mind, I have decided to take every step to ensure that this car will be refreshed and improved in as many wa...

Rebellion Forge is at full strength and dives into the 2J-Z project for Jacob. This 240Z is in need of some reinforcement when it comes to the chassis due to the fact that from the factory these cars are unibody vehicles. So is it safe to say a 2006 one is a cd009?
How much for the one your selling
Hey man. Can we get an update on the project?
Apologies for the vacancy here - it’s still very much alive. Stay tuned!
Don't run this setup. I used the same adapter kit and ruined my trans within a couple hundred miles. The adapter doesn't use any dowel pins so the input shaft will 100% be misaligned during install. It ended up eating my input shaft bearing, making terrible noises on decel.
Link to illuminati not working how much $
Whats that size wheels
So glad you started on this project again 😊
Thought this project was abandoned along time ago when videos stopped coming out.. Nice to see it back, hopefully its not a one video per 5 years kinda thing xD
More to come!
@@2JZdatsun 4 months late but good to know 🤣
Not really concerned with how late this comment is - were welcoming a new child and this is low on the priority list champ.
Killed it, I took a million years on this part. You were way more efficient 👌🏻👌🏻
I had the same welding indent in the same place 🙃
Nice
Been waiting on videos for this dude! I’ve had notifications on for 5 years or so now lol
What was the name of the company that was up and coming who made the center console?
Illuminati!
@@2JZdatsun guess the company didn’t last. Can’t seem to find them. Used that link you provided in the door card video but nothing loaded. Damn.
nice project mate! what the specs of your rear wheels? and tyres? thanks
Front 10.5, -32 offset Rear 12, -51 offset
I have this kit, installed and it's subpar at best. Godspeed
What’s your gripe with it?
Its completely the wrong size
Awesome! Now I can use your video as reference to do my install of my Apex products as well.
Glad to see the progress. Getting some good ideas from you for my 260.
Suspension is looking killer!!! Enjoyed the video bro!!!!
I’m so glad you are making videos again I love this build!
I clicked on this sooooo fast. Happy you’re back!
Thanks for the support man! (APEX ENGINEERED)
How’s the kit holding up from mavericks?
I'll let you know once I use it :)
What flares are those 🔥🔥🔥
Love20bee !
Lets go!!!!!!!
What stand alone have you decided on?
MS3Pro Evo, will be running a PDM unit and digital dash as well.
@@2JZdatsun any idea on how you'll mount the dash into the stock dash? I'm thinking of getting a emu adu7, and just leaving my dash out, since I don't have much interior... might keep it more race style... but I also like the old-school dash also... but it just broken kinda bad lol..
I’ll cut the divider between the two main holes for speedo and tach and either flock the dash or put some kind of finish that looks close to factory. Look up Medusa Z - they did a Racepak that inspired me.
Dang bro. That hurt me for ya, about the window!!!!! Its crazy how stuff that like that happens even though we try our best to be cautious!! Enjoyed the video!
Yeah it’s just part of it though! Luckily they can be had by most glass shops but still sucks to bust the original glass.
Love the garage btw!!!!
Great to see ya back on the tube!!!! Im building a 240z for my wife on our channel. Stoked to see ya get back after yours bro!!!
Off topic but did you have 5 inches of concrete for your lift?
I had to cut pads and I poured 6” deep pads reinforced with rebar.
@@2JZdatsun 😢 I'm gonna have to do the same thing
This will be a monster when finished 😊
What flare kit is that
Love20bee!
For the flares ??
Yes they sold them to me. I don’t believe they’re advertised.
Mate i love your work thats so motivated to save another z. All the luck with your project
Thank you!
nice
Glad you are back I got scared that something had happened to you.
Yessir! Can’t stop won’t stop 👊
I have simple question. CD009 fat transmission will fit to skinny propeller shaft tunnel 240z? I do similar thing swap motor to BMW M70 V12. The motor fit with 71c transmission to 240z Without cut any part of it. But, 71c transmission is not strong enough to catch up 300 hp+ May be. So I thinking install CD009 350z transmission. But as I look at it, back of CD009 is fat and I thought was not fit. Do you have any suggestion for me? I do not wanna cut 240z body. Thank you.
Yes it fits, the ears for the factory transmission mount must be cut off though.
Where has your ass been!!!!???? LOL... But welcome back! We are still here, just waiting on you to finish the journey. 😁👍
Let’s do thissss
That lift looks sweet. Any chance of a video going over it? How high it goes, powering it, install process ect?
I actually do have some content floating around somewhere! I ended up having to pour new concrete pads to get them installed properly.
Bruhhhh, I was wondering the same thing about the lift.
What’s flares are u running ? Looks really nice 👍🏼
These are from Love20Bee - they're metal!
Man, I put an n/a 2J with a t4 turbo, in my 260Z a few years ago. I just run it on the waste gate, 12lbs on the street. It pulls like a damn fright train from 70mph on up. 👀👀👀👀 You definitely don't need anymore than 400-500hp for a street track car. These s30's weigh 2,200-2,500lbs. You won't get any traction with anymore power. And the damn things will spin out at 70mph on the freeway.
☆☆☆☆☆
Good to see you’re back my friend 👍🏻
Hell yea brother
I got the notification and dropped everything to watch this! Was just thinking a couple weeks ago what happened to yea. So glad to see you back buddie!! Can't wait for more awesome content!!
Where’s the link to that adapter
They're no longer for sale unfortunately.
Vintage Air 👍👍
it must be nice having an open engine me like that LOL my Maverick is going to be a nightmare to make engine mounts
this is awesome, new home owner here. no drywall garage here, imma do this! hope you have now added vertical guards so those long pieces of wood at the top dont fall on people.
Haha remember when a 2JZ was $2,000-3,000?
Not to mention what the chassis itself is worth now.
